For this project you will need:
HOOK: Any size but I used 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
YARN: Any size but I used worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU
ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain
st = Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
sk sts = skip stitches
* = Repeat what is in between the stars for the rest of the row

This stitch is done in multiples of 5 + 2
To Start
ch in multiples of 5 until you reach desired size, then ch 2 and you’re ready to start.
Row 1 ( 1st color)
sc in 2nd ch from the hook, * ch 4 and sk 4 sts sc into next st * repeat for row
To end row: sc into last st of row.
Row 2 (2nd color)
(If you’re using two colors then switch to second color now)
Ch 3, * DC 4 into next ch 4 space, ch 1 * repeat for row.
To end row: Without the ch 1, just DC into last st of row.
Row 3 ( 1st color)
(If you’re using two colors then switch to 1st color now)
ch 1 and sc into top of 1st DC of row, * ch 4, sc into ch 1 space * repeat for row.
To end row: sc into top of ch 3
Repeat rows 2 & 3 until you reach desired size
