Crochet Mesh Wash Rag – Free Crochet Pattern

Wash Rag 1 WM

For this Crochet Mesh Wash Rag project you will need:

HOOK: 5mm hook or a size H US hook

YARN:  cotton / pac (8 ply) yarn. Or any soft yarn that would make a soft wash cloth. This wash cloth is done by using the mesh stitch.

 

Ch = chain

sc = single crochet

sp = space

st(s) = stitch(es)

sl st = slip stitch

sk a st = skip a stitch

Round 1

Ch 30, then sc into 2nd ch from hook and ch 1, sk a st and sc into 4th st. repeat pattern (SC, CH 1, sk a st, SC) ch 1 and turn.

 

Round 2

sc into the ch space from the previous round, ch 1, continue pattern (sc, ch1, sk a st, sc) the last stitch of the row is done in the ch 1 from the previous row, sc into the space. (When you ch 1 and turn to do another round) then ch 1 and turn.

 

 

Rounds 3 – 30

Repeat rows 1 and 2

When you get to the last stitch on the 30th row, you want to start crab stitching in every other st. Make sure your loop on your hook is not to tight, so that the stitches to don’t together so much. Do this all the way around. When you get to your last crab st, ch 10 and sl st into the beginning crab st of the round, (to make the loop) ch 1 cut yarn. Work in tail.
