Making the Center Flower

First go make the flower then read on below to turn the flower into a square

For Teresa’s tutorial on how to make the Marigold Flower see video below. I made it like she does in the tutorial, 10 petals second round, 15 third.

Written instructions for turning your flower into a square

Now after you’ve made your flower continue below:

Join with a sl st in the back bottom on any petal, ch 7 count over 4 petals and sl st into bottom of back petal, continue doing this until you have 4 ch 7 spaces.

sl st into a ch 7 sp and ch 3, dc 4 times then ch 2 then dc 5 more times in same ch 7 space. Then dc 5, ch 2, dc 5 in next ch 7 space and all around making 4 corners, sl st to join.

Next round you need to cross stitch, Cross stitch all around, chaining two when you come to a corner.

Next round change colors and you sc all around, 3 sc’s in a corner.
Next round cross stitch all around, ch 2 in corners.

Change color and sc all around, 3 sc’s in corner. fasten off.
