Did you know that the Bat-terfly Shawl was first an 8 point Star Afghan? It was a pattern only released on my crochet PDF pattern shops only, but with the love so many have expressed for the Bat-terfly Shawl, I decided to make the pattern free on my site. Oh and it comes with video tutorials too!

Thank you so much for your love and support for my channel.  God Bless!

For this Project

HOOK: 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US

YARN:

Worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU

100 grams / 3.5. oz

240 meters / 262 yards

Depending on what size you’re making. This afghan is done just like the never ending square. You can just keep adding more rows.

I changed colors every 4 rows and in between those 4 rows has a lining row of Purple. The last 4 outer layers of Brown and Variegated took almost 1 whole skein to make. So if you want to make it bigger than I did, just keep that in mind.

Mine measured about 73 cms or 28 1/2 inches wide.

3 Skeins of Tan or your (MC) = Main Color

4 Skein of Variegated (VAR)

2 Skein of Purple or your (SeC) = Second Color

For Baby blanket, stop after round 21

If you ended up with 2 or 3 stitches at the end of this row it doesn’t matter, you still want to do a V stitch in the last st of your round. Then sl st in the top of the beginning FPDC to end your round.

Round 4

Round 7 – Change to variegated yarn (VAR)

Attach your yarn using a DC Attachment in any of the ch 1 spaces of one of your top peak stitches. DC 2 more in same stitch. We’re only making half of our top peak stitch in the first space and we’ll finish it at the end of our round.

Round 10
