For this project you’ll need:
HOOK: 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
YARN: I used worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU
Each Skein was – 100 grams / 3.5. oz r 210 meters / 230 yards

ch = Chain
sl st = Slip Stitch
sts = Stitches
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
HDC = Half Double Crochet
TRC = Triple crochet

Making the Bread
Round 1
Ch 3 and sl st into beginning chain to form a ring.
Round 2
Ch 2 [this counts as first DC] Dc 11 into ring (12 sts)
Round 3
Ch 2 [this counts as first DC] Dc 1 into same st, Dc 2 into each st around (24 sts)
Round 4
Ch 2 [this counts as first DC] Dc 1 into same space, *(Dc 1 into next st, Dc 2 into next st)* (36 sts)
Round 5
Now we start to make the first top corner of the bread the sts will be as follows sc 1, hdc 1, dc 1, then do 6 triple crochets into the same space, then dc into next space, then hdc into next space then do 6 sc’s. Then we begin next top corner, hdc 1, dc 1, 6 TC into same space, dc 1, hdc 1, sc in next 2 spaces bringing you into bottom left corner.
hdc 1, dc 1, 6 TC into same space, dc 1, hdc 1, sc into the next 4 sts. Bringing us into our last corner. hdc 1, dc 1, 6 TC’s into same space, dc 1, hdc 1, sc in next 2 spaces, skip last st and sl st into beginning sc of the round. Fasten yarn off
Round 6
Now grab the color you wish for the crust/border of the bread and sl st to join. ch 1 and crab st or if you prefer reverse sc, all around working to the left instead of the right. Fasten yarn off.
Eyes
White part of eye you ch 4, sl st into beginning st to form a ring, sc 6 into ring. Next round sc 2 into all 6 sts around (12 sts) sl st into beginning sc and fasten yarn off leaving yourself a tail to use for sewing. (Make Two)
Black part of eye you ch 4 and sl st into the beginning st, ch 1 cut yarn leaving a small tail to sew to white part of eye (Make Two)
To make nose you ch 4 and sl st into beginning ch to form a ring. sc 3 into ring, ch 1 and fasten off yarn leaving a tail for sewing.
Mouth you get a bit of yarn and following the natural part in the stitching, you can almost see a smile there, just get your bit of string and tie a knot in the end, and thread the other, and use the embroidery stitch to make the mouth until your happy he’s happy.
