The multiples of this glove is 2. So to make it bigger just add sts in multiples of 2.
To Start:
Ch 26
Row 1
Sc in second ch from hook. *sl st in next stitch, ch 3 and skip a stitch and sl st into next, sc in next stitch* Repeat for row. sc in last st. ( sc, sl st, ch 3, sk a st, sl st) at end, ch 1 and turn
Row 2
Sc in first st, * BFS 4 times in the ch 3 space from previous row then sl st into the sc * Repeat til end of row.
Sl st into stitch BEFORE the last stitch, leaving the last stitch of the row. Now using this last stitch of the row, grab the other side of the row and align it. sl st sew using the last stitch of the row and it’s equal on the other tip as shown in picture 2.
Sl st twice to sew and form a ring. Ch 1
Rounds 3 and 4
SC into all sts around (25 sts) make sure you end the rounds with 25 stitches, if you have to decrease once then do so.
Rounds 5 – 16 (12 rounds)
(change color here if you wish your glove to be another color than your ruffle)
BFS using your first 2 sts (because the BFS / Butterfly Stitch takes 2 stitches to create) and Place stitch marker here. Continue the round and when you get to the end, do the first part of the Butterfly stitch in the last stitch of the round and finish the butterfly stitch using that long first stitch of the round, like shown below.
Work your BFS using the wings of the butterflies from last row. Beginning in one wing and finishing the stitch in the next like shown below. Continue crocheting in the spiral round for a total of 12 rounds. NOTE: Always count your rounds from the left side of your marker. (I personally count over two stitches to the left of my marker, then start counting my rows up from there til I count 10 rows and my hook is at the beginning of the row to start round 17, then I start my thumb.)
MAKING THE THUMB
Round 1 of thumb
sl into the next stitch and ch 6, skip over 4 sts and sl st in the 5th. Then continue your BFS’s as normal until you reach thumb hole again. Don’t forget to BFS in the section right before the thumb.
Round 2
Work 3 BFS’s into the ch 6 space and sl st into the next st. Continue your BFS’s as normal. (picture only shows 2 BFS’s but 3 works better!)
Round 3
MARK THIS STITCH BEFORE THE THUMB and continue to work your BFS’s over the thumb as normal. Now you may notice you have 2 stitches after the thumb that are not a previous BFS. This is because of the sl sts you did the last two rounds. So using these 2 stitches, work a BFS as normal and then continue the round with BFS’s as normal until you reach your marker again.
Rounds 4 & 5
Work your BFS’s as normal until you reach your marker.
Round 6 & 7
SC in all sts around. sl st into next st and ch 1, cut yarn & hide tails.
NOTE: You don’t have to but I highly recommend that to make this grip around your finger tighter, do a few decreases on rounds 6 & 7 to tighten it a bit. I did about 3 decreases spread out for both rounds leaving me with 19 sts when I was done with round 7.
