For this project you will need:
- HOOK: 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
- YARN: worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU โ I used one for this shorter scarf, grab 2 if you want a longer scarf

Multiples of the stitch
The multiples of this stitch is 4 + 1 if using SCFS = Single Crochet foundation stitch
The multiples of this stitch is 4 + 2 if using Chains
Width of the shawl – 15 cm or 6 inches
To Start
Chain 18 or do – 17 SCFS’s then move to row 2
Row 1
If chained then sc in 2nd ch from hook and sc in all sts. (17 sts)
Row 2
ch 2 and turn. Ch 2 counts as beginning st.
* sk a st, V st in next st, sk next st, DC in next *
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row then Ch 2 and turn.
Row 3
Ch 2 counts as beginning st.
* FPDC on 1st DC post of the V st. V st in the Ch 1 sp. FPDC on 2nd DC post of the V st. FPDC on single DC. *
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row then Ch 2 and turn.
Row 4
Ch 2 counts as beginning st.
* Sk FPDC and DC in next DC. V st in ch 1 sp. DC on next DC. Sk next FPDC. BPDC on FPDC *(this was out FPDC from last row)
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row then Ch 2 and turn.
Row 5
Ch 2 counts as beginning st.
* Sk 1st DC and FPDC on 1st DC post of the V st. V st in the Ch 1 sp. FPDC on 2nd DC post of the V st. Sk next DC. FPDC on BPDC.*
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row then Ch 2 and turn.
Repeat rows 4 and 5 until you reach your desired length.
To end scarf:
Ch 1 and turn. SC in beginning st. SC in all sts except the ch 1 spaces of the V sts.
Add fringe to the bottom of the long FPDC sections and a fringe to both corners.
