Chrysanthemum Flower DISPLAY

For this project you’ll need:

HOOK: 3.5 mm hook or size H hook for the US

YARN: I used worsted weight yarn. 4 ply for the US and 10 ply for AU.

 

ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain

sl st = Slip Stitch

st = Stitch

SC = Single Crochet

* = Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round.

Round 1

ch 3 sl st to form a ring, ch 2 HDC 7 into ring (8 sts)

 

Round 2

ch 1 sl st into the back of the first st, *(ch 3 and sl st into the back of the next back st to the left)* Repeat
to the end of the round for a total of 7 petals, sl st into the original back st.

 

Round 3

ch 5 and like before sl st into the back of the first st, should be easier to do given you already sl stitched into before.
*(ch 5 and sl st into the back of the next st)* repeat until end. sl st into original sl st.

 

Round 4

ch 7 and repeat as same row, sl stitching along the back into the same set of sl stitches.

 

Round 5

TURN your work around so that your facing the back and the nearest of the biggest petals to the left, sl st into
that ch 7 petal space. *(ch 3 sl st into ch 7 space*) repeat until you have 10 mini petals in that space, sl st into the next ch 7
space and repeat.

 

Round 6

sl st into the nearest middle petal to the left and ch 3 and sl st into that ch 5 space like you did for the previous row, *(ch 3 sl st)
Repeat until you have 7 mini petals in that ch 5 space. Fasten off leaving a tail to use to sew flower onto something, pull tail through the project to the back.

 

Round 7

TURN your work so that you have the front facing you. You see the very middle row and the ch 3 petals. You want to
work into the ch 3 petals. sl st your new colors into one of the ch 3 spaces and sc 2, HDC 3, SC 2, sl, sl st into next petal and repeat. *(sc 2, HDC 3, SC 2, sl)*
in all 7 petals

 

Round 8

Sl st into one of the very center chains and ch 3 and sl st into next chain, for a total of 7 petals. the sl st into original sl st and fasten off and work in tail.
