Cotton Pac Scrunchie – Free Crochet Pattern

This Crochet Scrunchy is made from cotton and is a great quick summer crochet project. It’s also a great way to use up scrap yarn and they make great crochet gifts.

All you need is scrap yarn and a rubber band.

Cotton Pac Scrunchie – Free Crochet Pattern

For this project you’ll need:

YARN: I use 50% cotton, 50% pac yarn But you can use acrylic, but use 3 ply US / 8 ply AU

HOOK: 3.5 mm hook or size E hook for US

a covered rubber band is preferred, because it gives it extra strength and makes it easier to crochet over, but it’s not a must.

 

ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain

sl st = Slip Stitch

st = Stitch

SC = Single Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

Round 1

To start, take your 3.5mm hook and attach your yarn to your hook, then insert your cook, through the rubber bank, draw up a loop, then yarn over and pull through both loops to complete your sc.

Continue to sc until you have your rubber band covered, pulling down your stitches along the rubber band to make the sts snug together, but not to tight where you warp the rubber band. Sl st into beginning st

 

Round 2
Ch 2, next stitch do a DC, and in all sts around to a DC. Sl st in beginning st

 

Round 3
ch 1 and do 3 sc’s into the next st and in rest of sts around do 3 sc’s in one st. sl st into beginning st.

 

Round 4
ch 1 and crab (reverse single crochet) st in all sts around. (Working to the right) skip last st and slip st into beginning st, ch 1 and cut yarn. And Enjoy!
