Crochet Flower Doily – Free Crochet Pattern

This Free Crochet Flower Doily pattern teaches you how to crochet a flower doily using regular worsted weight yarn. I also designed a flower coaster to go with the doily and together they make an awesome set!

The pattern for this Crochet Flower Doily is so lacy that you can make both the doily and coaster set with only one skein. These make great gifts and also a good scrap buster. You can really get creative with the colors with this one.

Lets begin making the large center flower (Make one)

With your MC ch 5 and sl st to join to form a ring.

Round 1
Ch 1 and DC 16 into the center of the ring (16)

Round 2
Ch 1 and in the same st do 2 dc’s, and do 2 dc’s in all stitches around for a total of 32 sts. Ch 1 and fasten off yarn and work in ends. (32)

Now changing to SeC attach to any top dc stitch from previous round like shown above. Ch 20 and sk st and sl st into following st, Ch 20 and repeat for a total of 16 large petals. (16)

Once done sl st and fasten off yarn and we can start to make the smaller flowers.

Making the smaller flowers for the doily (Make 8)

With your MC ch 5 and sl st to join to form a ring.

Round 1
With MC Ch 1 and DC 17 into the center of the ring (17) Note we are adding an extra stitch here (17 instead of 16) fasten off yarn.

Round 2
With SeC sl st in any dc sp and ch 10 and sl st into following st, repeat until you get 14 petals, ch 10 and cut your yarn leaving yourself a long tail enough to finish

the last ch 10 for the last petal. Weave this 15th ch to into large flower petal and sl st back to flower, then ch 10 and weave in the next large petal and sl st it back to the regular flower. Like Shown below.

Next Small flower do the same except stop at your 13 ch. Because you will be weaving ch’s 13 and 14 to the small flower next to it like shown in the picture below, and then chains 15 and 16 will be weaved into large petals of the middle flower.

Continue to do this until your ready to attach the very last flower, you will need to stop after your 11th chain and weave 11 and 12 into right flower, 13 and 14 into large flower, and ch’s 15 and 16 into last petal to the left. Cut yarn and weave in ends.
