These crochet leaves that I made to decorate my clock are the same ones I used to make my Flower Garland and Falling Flowers Garland pattern and tutorial. So since they are the same pattern, just a different idea on how to use them, I thought I would make this a blog post instead.
My last blog post was #13 when I shared the granny poncho I made for my son in 2022. He still wears it every winter.

Crochet Leaves Clock Decoration – Blog Post # 14
For this project I used:
HOOK: 4 mm / US size 6
YARN: I used several different color green skeins of worsted weight yarn that I had as scrap yarn. (4 ply US, 10 ply AU)
I wanted my leaves to feel like they were turning colors as they fell, so I grabbed some scrap variegated yarn I’ve had for ages. I know you can still find places that you can order it. Alize yarn is made in Turkey and shipped to places like Israel where I live.
I’ve seen it for sale in some places online. It’s called Alize superlana klasik – batik design color 4276 if you’re interested in trying to find some.

I started by making all my leaves, then I started turning them into vines like I did with my flower garlands. But this time I made the vines shorter and at different lengths.
I used the green leaves at the start and as I made the vine longer I would add the different color leaves to give the effect of turning leaves at the ends.
Once I had 3 vines I would slip stitch them together to form a 3 vine connection.
I did this twice, giving me 2 vines of 3. I added one leaf then chained 1 and added the next. Then I chained to space out my 2 leaf sections, around 8 to 10 chains apart.

Then I made one more longer vine of leaves, using every color and spacing my leaves even closer together. I did about 5 chains before adding the next leaf.
I already had my nail on the wall, because my clock had been hanging from it. So all I had to do was remove my clock and add my first set of 3 vines to my nail.

I added my next set of 3 vines next, then I gathered all my vines and pushed it up out of the way so that I could hang my clock back on the nail.

Sorry for the blurry picture, my son and I were both fighting to make sure the clock didn’t fall on our feet LoL.
Once the clock was in place. I laid the single vine of leaves on top and over to the left side of the clock.

I arranged the leaves until they looked a way I liked and then I was done! I hope you can do something like this too now. I hope you’ll check out some of my other blogs I’ve done over the years. If you liked this one, please be sure to pin it and share! Thank you!
