With the weather turning colder I decided to make a small blanket (lapghan) to cover my legs when I’m at the computer working and this Striped Crochet Blanket Pattern is the perfect size and was so easy to make!
It’s rare I make anything for myself so I wanted it to be special. I played around with yarn trying different stitch combinations until I found something I liked. I hope you like it too.

Multiples of the stitch:
6 + 5 this means to DCFS in sets of 6 until you reach your desired size then DCFS 5 more and you’re ready to go.
To start:
For crib size DCFS 119
For lapghan size DCFS 125
If you’d prefer to have a beginning chain then just add + 1 so crib would be 120 and lapghan would be 126 then do a row of DC’s starting in the 3rd chain from the hook and then continue with row 1.
ch 2 and turn.
Row 1
*DC in next st. DFPC on post of next stitch. DC in next stitch.
Sk a st and DC 3 into next. Sk a st *
repeat for the row. DC in ending stitch. ch 2 and turn.
Row 2
The ch 2 always counts as your first stitch of the row.
*Skip a st and DC 3 into next stitch. Sk a st DC into next. DCFC on post of next stitch. DC into next *repeat for the row. DC in ending stitch. ch 2 and turn.
Row 3
The turning chain counts as your first DC here. *DC in next st which is the 1st of the 3 DC’s here. DFPC on post of next stitch. DC in next/Last DC of 3 stitches here.* repeat for the row.
At the end of your row after you skip a st and DC 3 into next. CH 1 and DC in ending Ch 2.
