This stitch is done in multiples of 12 + 6

To Start

Once you have your multiples of 12 and your project is as wide as you need it, then chain 6 more and you’re ready to begin row 1.

Row 1

DC in the 7th ch from the hook. DC in the next 9 sts for a total of 10 DC’s in a row.

*Ch 2, Skip 2 sts and DC in next stitch

DC in next 9 sts.* Repeat for row.

To end row: You should have 2 chains left.

Ch 1, skip 1 and DC in last ch. Ch 3 and turn

Row 2 – Start of your repeat rows

DC in the ch 1 space.

*Ch 2 and Skip 2 DC’s. DC in next st.

DC the next 5 sts for a total of 6 DC’s in a row.

Ch 2, Skip 2 DC’s.

DC twice into your ch 2 space* Repeat for row.

To end row: You should have 2 DC’s and your ch space at the end.

Ch 2 and skip the 2 DC’s and DC twice in ending ch space.

Ch 3 and turn

Row 3

The turning Ch 3 will count as your first stitch of the row.

DC in the next stitch.

*DC twice into your ch 2 space.

Ch 2, skip 2.

DC in next two sts.

Ch 2 and skip 2 DC’s

DC twice into ch 2 space.

DC in the next 2 DC’s* Repeat for row.

To end row: You should have 2 DC’s, ch 2 and 2 DC’s

Ch 2 and skip 2 DC’s

DC twice into ch 2 space.

DC in the next DC then DC in the ending ch 3.

Ch 3 and turn

Row 4

The turning Ch 3 will count as your first stitch of the row.

DC in the next 3 DC’s

DC twice in the ch 2 space

*Ch 2, Skip 2 DC’s

DC twice in the ch 2 space

DC in the next 6 Sts

DC twice in the ch 2 space * repeat for row

This will give you 10 DC’s in a row now

To end row: After the last 10 DC section of the row, you should be left with a ch 2 space, 2 dc’s, ch 2 space and 3 dc’s and ending ch 3 at the end.

Ch 2, skip 2 DC’s

DC twice in ch 2 space.

DC in the last 3 DC’s

DC in ending Ch 3.

Ch 3 and turn

Now we have reached our peak width of our diamond, so for row 5 we will be reducing the amount of DC’s we have in a row.

DC in the next 3 sts.

*Ch 2, skip 2 DC’s.

Ch 2, skip 2 DC’s

DC in the next 2 DC’s

DC in the ending ch 3.

Ch 3 and turn

Row 6

The turning Ch 3 will count as your first stitch of the row.

DC in the next stitch.

*Ch 2, skip 2.

Row 7

The turning Ch 4 will count as your first TWO stitches of the row.

*DC twice into ch 2 space.

DC in the next 6 DC’s

DC twice into ch 2 space. Ch 2*

This will give you 10 DC’s in a row again

To end row: After your last 10 DC’s in a row you should have 2 sts left on the end.

Ch 1, skip 1 st and DC in ending ch 3

Ch 3 and turn
