For this project you will need:
HOOK: Any size but I used 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
YARN: Any size but I used worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU
ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain
sl st = Slip Stitch
st = Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
YO = Yarn Over
sk a st = Skip a stitch
Puff Stitch (PS) – *YO and insert hook into stitch, pull up on yarn slightly so that your loops are loose. * repeat 4 more times. Then YO and pull through all 11 loops and ch 1 to secure.
* = Repeat what is in between the stars for the rest of the row

Multiples of the stitch
This stitch is done in multiples of 6 + 3
To Start
ch in multiples of 6 then once you reach desired width ch 3 more and you’re ready to start.
Row 1
DC in 4th ch from hook, DC in all remaining chs. ch 1 and turn.
Row 2
sc in first st, ch 1 and sk a st, sc in next, * ch 4 and sk a st, sc in next, ch 1 and sk a st, sc into next, ch 1 and sk a st, sc into next * Repeat for row. When you get to the last 2 sts, ch 1 and sk a st and sc into last st. ch 3 and turn.
Row 3
DC into 1st st, ch 2 and sc into ch 4 space. * Ch 2 and cross st using the two ch 1 spaces * Repeat for row. DC in last st. ch 3 and turn.
Row 4
DC twice into 1st stitch. * PS into SC, DC twice into next ch 1 space, ch 1 and DC twice into next ch 1 space* Repeat for row. DC 3 times in last stitch. Ch 2 and turn.
Row 5
dc in second st and in all sts across. Make sure you skip the space after the PS because this is not counted as a stitch.
Repeat rows 2 – 5 until you reach desired size.
