The multicolored pic shows 7 colors, it’s best to use an odd number so your color placement changes on the stitch from a SC row to the Ripple row.
The multiples of this is 16 + 3
To Start:
Chain in multiples of 16, remember this is a ripple so you need to make your base chain much longer than the blanket you need. I go into this in more detail and show you an example in the video tutorial if you need more clarification. Once your done, chain + 3 more then you’re ready to start row 1.
Row 1
DC dec in the 4th ch from the hook. So YO, insert your hook into the 4th ch, YO and only pull through 2 loops. Then YO and insert your hook into the NEXT ch and YO and only pull through 2. The YO and pull through all 3 loops.
*Ch 1, Sk 1 and DC into the next chain, Ch 1, Sk 1 and DC into the next chain. Ch 1, sk a st and DC 5 into the next ch to create your Upper Peak.
Ch 1, Sk 1 and DC into the next chain, Ch 1, Sk 1 and DC into the next chain. Ch 1, sk a st, |YO, insert your hook into the next st, YO and only pull through 2 loops. | repeat 4 more times.
Then YO and pull through all 6 loops. This finishes our Lower Peak*
*= Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row. At the end of your row you should have 4 sts left. Sk the next stich and DC dec using the last 3 sts. CH 1 and turn.
Row 2
SC into first Decrease. *SC into you ch 1 sp, SC into your DC, SC into your ch sp, SC in each of your 5 DC’s, SC into you ch 1 sp, SC into your DC, SC into your ch sp, sc into your Decrease st. *I didn’t use the gathered stitch to sc into, I used the bigger stitch to the left, the one beside our next ch 1 sp. But you can use either stitch that you feel comfortable with. (see tutorial if you don’t know what I mean)
*= Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row. At the end of your row do a SC into the top of the ending ch 2. Ch 3 and Turn.
Row 3
The ch 3 will count as our first stitch. So use the next 2 sts to create your DC dec. YO, insert your hook into the next st, YO and only pull through 2 loops. Then YO and insert your hook into the NEXT st and YO and only pull through 2. The YO and pull through all 3 loops.
*Ch 1, Sk 1 and DC into the next st, Ch 1, Sk 1 and DC into the next st. Ch 1, sk a st and DC 5 into the MIDDLE of your 5 DC’s to create your Upper Peaks from now on.
Ch 1, Sk 1 and DC into the next st, Ch 1, Sk 1 and DC into the next st. Ch 1, sk a st, | YO, insert your hook into the next st, YO and only pull through 2 loops. | repeat 4 more times.
Then YO and pull through all 6 loops. This finishes our Lower Peak*
*= Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row. At the end of your row you should have 3 sts left. YO, insert your hook into the next st and, YO and only pull through 2 loops. Then YO and insert your hook into the next st YO and only pull through 2. Then YO and insert your hook into the LAST stand YO and only pull through 2.
The YO and pull through all 4 loops.
Repeat rows 2 and 3
