Ripple Zig Zag Stitch – Free Crochet Pattern

For this project you will need:
HOOK: 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
YARN: I used worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU
Stitch marker if you need it.
Another yarn brand with color options
ABBREVIATIONS
ch = Chain
sl st = Slip Stitch
st = Stitch
sk 2 sts = Skip two stitches
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
Sc inc = Single crochet Increase
Sc dec = single crochet decrease
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round.
A stitch marker of some kind if needed

The multiples of this stitch is 19 + 21. This is because each ridge is 19 sts and the sides are a total of 21 as shown in the picture below.
To start: Ch 21 sts, then chain in multiples of 19 until you reach desired size. For this pattern I will be chaining the minimum required amount of chains, which is 40 chains.
Row 1
SC in 2nd ch from hook then SC again into the same stitch. * Put 1 SC into the next 8 sts,
skip 2 sts, Put 1 SC into the next 8 sts, DC 3 into the same stitch* Repeat until end. Put two sc’s into the last st. ch 1 and turn (39 sts)
Row 2
sl st in all sts – ch 1 and turn. (39 sts)
Row 3
Make sure to SC in the st and not in the Sl st this row. Sc in all sts ch 1 and turn (39 sts)
Row 4
Sl st in all sts (39 sts)
Row 5
We will be working in the sl st from last row, the row that is in front. Sc 2 into first st, and *sc into next 8 sts, skip 2 sts, sc into next 8 sts, DC 3 into next st * Repeat for row. SC 2 into last stitch. (39 sts)
Row 6
Sl st in all sts (39 sts)
Repeat rows 1 – 6
