The Multiples

This stitch is done in multiples of 8 + 2

To Start

Chain in multiples of 8 then when you reach desired width ch 2

For my scarf I chained 26 (8+8+8+2)

Row 1

sc in 1st ch from the hook. * Skip 3 sts, dc 3, ch 3, dc 3 into next ch, skip 3 sts, sc into next st * repeat for row. Ch 1 and turn.

Tip for row 2

We will be working always in the 1st and 3rd dc’s skipping the middle DC when creating our clusters.

Row 2

SC in the beginning SC. Ch 3, and we will be working our 1st DCC using the 1st and 3rd dc of the following dc 3.

YO and grab up the post of the 1st dc, YO and pull through 2 loops, YO and grab the post of the 3rd DC, YO and pull through 2 loops. Then YO and pull through all 3 loops. Ch 3 and Sc into the 2nd ch of the ch 3.

Now we’ll be working with the 1st and 3rd dc’s of the next 2 sets of dc’s to create Full DCC’s. See picture below for help.

*ch 3, YO and grab up the post of the 1st dc, YO and pull through 2 loops, YO and grab the post of the 3rd DC, Pull through 2 loops (3 loops on hook) repeat this for the next set of dc’s  (5 loops on your hook) YO and pull through all 5 loops. Ch 3 and sc into sc * repeat for row. *

To end row, do a Half DCC again using the last set of dc’s . pull through all 3 loops, CH 1 and Dc in ending SC. Ch 4 and turn.

Row 3

DC 3 into first stitch, * sc into sc, in the top of the cluster stitch,  dc 3, ch 3, dc 3 all in same stitch, then sc into sc *repeat for row.

To end your row DC 3, ch 1, DC 3 all in last stitch. CH 1 and turn.

Row 4

SC into 1st  st. * YO and grab up the post of the 1st dc, YO and pull through 2 loops, YO and grab the post of the 3rd DC, Pull through 2 loops (3 loops on hook) repeat this for the next set of dc’s as shown in picture 5 (5 loops on your hook) YO and pull through all 5 loops. Ch 3 and sc into sc * repeat for row. Sc in 3rd ch of ending ch 4. Ch 1 and turn.

Row 5

SC into beg st * dc 3, ch 3, dc in next top cluster stitch, sc into next sc. * repeat for row. Ch 1 and turn.

You will be repeating rows 2 – 5

As you can see for row 6, this is how we started row 2.
