For this Square Sun Lacy Crochet Shawl project you will need:

YARN: For this project you will need 3 skeins of 100 gram- 3.53 oz or 330meters – 361 yards of yarn. I used Alize cotton club yarn which is 55% cotton and 45% acrylic.

HOOK: 5 millimeter / H hook.

Ch = chain

sc = single crochet

dc = double crochet

trc = triple crochet

sts = stitches

* = repeat what is in between

NOTE: To get this lacy look you will chain 1 a lot, but these are not counted as a stitch in this project in other words you will only we working in the stitches , sc, dc, and trc never in the spaces in between.

This stitch is done in multiples of 12 until you get length desired, then add 5 stitches so it’s 12 + 5.

This shawl is 58 by 25 inches (147 by 65 centimeters) so if you want to make it smaller, then reduce in multiples of 12

To Start:

Chain 185 loosely – You much watch your tension here or else this beginning chain will be shorter than the stitches and cause them to pull tighter than your next row and you don’t want that.

Row 1:

dc in 5th ch from hook, * ch 1, skip a stitch, dc * repeat until end of row. It should work out where you have a dc in last stitch.

dc in next st, * ch 4, trc in next 4 sts, Ch 4 and dc in next stitch, ch 1 and dc in next stitch. * repeat for row. Last stitch you dc in 3rd chain of beginning ch 4
