Velvet Crochet Scrunchie Tutorial and pattern that teaches you how to crochet this very simple scrunchy that’s made using Velvet yarn. If you’re like me and you’ve seen this fluffy velvet yarn and were looking for something to crochet with it, well look no further! The trick to this one is the yarn and size rubber band.

I used these soft elastic rubber bands I got in Israel. They come in 3 sizes. I used the medium size for my scrunchy.

For this project you will need:
- HOOK: 6 mm hook or size J hook for the US
- Yarn: Composition: 100% polyester (fine glitter)
Weight / length: 100 g / 120 m - Maintenance: Machine washable, max. 40 ° C / 104 F

sl st = Slip Stitch
st = Stitch
YO = Yarn over
beg = beginning
DC = Double Crochet
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round.

Row 1
Using your 6 mm \ J hook, Create a slip knot leaving a 3 inch tail.
Insert your hook into the rubber band. Pull up a loop. 2 loops on your hook. YO and pull through both loops. You should be attached to the rubber band now with as a SC.
Insert your hook back into the rubber band again and pull up another loop. YO and pull through both loops creating your next SC. Repeat until you have 24 sc’s in total. Sl st into beg SC and ch 2
Row 2
The ch 2 counts as your first st. DC 2 more in that same st. “DC 3 in the remaining 23 SC’s.” Sl st in beg DC and ch 1. Cut yarn leaving a 3 inch tail.
Hide your tail through the stitches of your DC’s or around the sc’s of around the band.
