Velvet Crochet Scrunchy – Fluffy Crochet Scrunchy – Free Crochet pattern

 

This crochet Scrunchy is sure to please! I can’t make them fast enough. It’s super easy scrunchy pattern made from velvet yarn.

I used these soft elastic rubber bands I got in Israel. They come in 3 sizes. I used the medium size for my scrunchy.

 

 

 

I found similar rubber bands to what I used on Amazon.

 

 

 

 

HOOK: 6 mm hook or size J hook for the US

Yarn: Composition: 100% polyester (fine glitter)
Weight / length: 100 g / 120 m

Maintenance: Machine washable, max. 40 ° C / 104 F

 

Find the brand and color lot numbers below.

 

 

 

 

 

If you are looking for velvet yarn in your area or looking for another brands, you can find some like it on Amazon.

 

 

 


 

ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain

sl st = Slip Stitch

st = Stitch

YO = Yarn over

beg = beginning

DC = Double Crochet

Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round.

Row 1

Using your 6 mm \ J hook, Create a slip knot leaving a 3 inch tail.

Insert your hook into the rubber band. Pull up a loop. 2 loops on your hook. YO and pull through both loops. You should be attached to the rubber band now with as a SC.

 

Insert your hook back into the rubber band again and pull up another loop. YO and pull through both loops creating your next SC. Repeat until you have 24 sc’s in total. Sl st into beg SC and ch 2

 

 

 

 

Row 2

The ch 2 counts as your first st. DC 2 more in that same st.  “DC 3 in the remaining 23 SC’s.”  Sl st in beg DC and ch 1. Cut yarn leaving a 3 inch tail.

 

Hide your tail through the stitches of your DC’s or around the sc’s of around the band.
