Chain in multiples of 12 until you reach your desired size then chain 4 more and you’re ready to begin row 1

Row 1

DC in the 5th ch from the hook, DC in the next stitch. Sk 3 sts,

Then YO and insert your hook into the next stitch. YO and pull through only 2 of the loops, YO and insert your hook into the same stitch. YO and pull through 2 loops, then YO and pull through all 3 loops. This is your first DC DEC. CH 3 and using the same stitch do another DC DEC. CH 3, again DC DEC into the same stitch.

* Sk 3 sts and DC in next 5 sts in a row.

SK 3 sts, DC DEC, CH 3, DC DEC, CH 3, DC DEC * Repeat for the row

To end your row: SK 3 and DC in the last 3 sts. CH 3 and turn.

Row 2

The CH 3 will count as your first stitch, so moving over and using the next 2 DC’s from the previous row, DC into 2nd st of row. BPDC on last DC here. CH 3.

*Moving to our shells now, Skip of to the middle DC DEC and put a SC into the top of it. CH 3, BPDC on first DC, DC in the next 3 DC’s and BPDC on the last DC. CH 3 * repeat for row.

To end row: Once you come up to your last 3 DC’s of the row. BPDC in first one, DC in middle one and DC in the top of the ending ch.
