For this project you will need:
- HOOK: Any size but I used 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
- YARN: Any size but I used worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU

ch = Chain
sl st = Slip Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
sts = Stitches
sk = skip
DC = Double Crochet
PC = Popcorn stitch
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row.
| = Repeat what’s in between for number of times indicated
Multiples of the stitch
This stitch is done in multiples of 8 + 2
Row 1
sc in 2nd ch from the hook, ch 4 * sk 3, DC 6, sl st in beg DC to create a PC st, ch 3, sk 3, sc, ch 1, sc, in next st. ch 4 *
To end row: sk 3 chs and sc in last st. Ch 3 and turn
Row 2
DC, ch1, DC in beg st * ch 2, sc in st space of your PC, ch 2 |dc, ch 1| * 2 more times *
To end row: DC, ch 1, DC 2, in last sc.
Row 3
*sc, ch 1, sc in the PC stitch. ch 4, move over to middle space of shell.
dc 6 and make a PC, ch 3,*
To end row: Ch 4 and DC in last DC. ch 1 and turn
Row 4
sc in 1st st of row. *Ch 2. DC, ch1, DC in the ch 1 sp between sc’s. CH 2 and SC in PC st.*
To end row: Ch 2 and SC in the 4th ch of ending ch. Ch 1 and turn.
Row 5
SC in the 1st st. *ch 4, move over to middle space of shell.
DC 6 and make a PC, ch 3, sc, ch 1, sc in the PC stitch *
To end row: ch 3 and sc in last sc of row.
repeat rows 2 – 5
