How to Start and Increase with the C2C stitch.
Row 1
DC in the 4th ch from the hook and in the next 2 chs.
Ch 6 (Always ch 6 to begin a new row when you are increasing)
Row 2
DC in the 4th ch from the hook and in the next 2 chs. Now turn your first set of DC’s, where the back of the stitch is facing you. Sl st in the top of the very beginning ch 3.
You have now succsefully attach your first 2 blocks of C2C.
Now we make our new block using this ch 3. We will be crocheting on the ch.
DC 3 on the ch 3.
Row 3
We’re still increasing so ch 6 . DC in the 4th ch from the hook and in the next 2 chs.
Now we’ll be going down our row moving block to block using the Ch 3 at the beginning of each block to anchor using a sl st.
Move to you your next block. * Sl st in the top of the ch 3.
Ch 3. DC 3 on the ch 3. * Move to the next block and repeat.
Row 4
We’re still increasing so ch 6 . DC in the 4th ch from the hook and in the next 2 chs.
Move to you your next block. * Sl st in the top of the ch 3.
Ch 3. DC 3 on the ch 3. * Move to the next block and repeat.
Repeat row 4 to increase.
When changing colors (or Changing Colors mid row) I leave my previous DC unfinished and I pull the new color through the last two loops of the DC to complete it and I now have my new color attached. Be sure to leave yourself enough of a tail so it won’t slip out. Pulling your first color tight and it should tighten the knot.
Tips on hiding tails
I recommend to leave a long enough tail to hide be able to hide it with a tapestry needle. Crocheting over the tails doesn’t secure them enough.
How to Decrease with the C2C stitch
To decrease with this stitch, all you have to do is finish the last block that’s equal to the final block from the previous row by slip stitching on the top of the Ch 3. Then Ch 1 and turn. sl st in the 3 DC’s and sl st in the top of the Ch 3 like you normally do and Ch 3. The DC 3 on the Ch 3.
