This Diamond Lace Crochet Stitch gives the look of filet and 3D effect at the same time. Done using mostly single crochet’s, this stitch is also warm, despite it’s lacy look.

For this project you will need:
HOOK: size ply yarn recommends But I used 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
YARN: Any ply but I used worsted weight yarn
ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain
sl st = Slip Stitch
st = Stitch
sk = Skip
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
beg = beginning
YO = Yarn Over
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round.

To Start
This stitch is done in multiples of 9 + 7
Row 1
Skip 7 sts and sc into the 8th ch from the hook,
sc in the next 6 chains, for a total of 7 sc’s in a row.
*Ch 5 and skip 2 chs, and sc in the next 7 sts.* Repeat for row
To end row: You should have 2 sts left.
Ch 2 and DC in the very last st. Ch 1 and turn.
Row 2 – Start of Repeat
SC in 1st DC of row.
*Ch 3, skip the first SC,
SC into the next 5 sts.
Skip the last sc,
Ch 3 and now we’ve come up to our ch 5 space.
Skip the first 2 chs and sc into the middle ch. skip the last 2 chs * Repeat for row
To end Row: after last ch 3, sc in 3rd ch of ending ch.
Row 3
sc in 1st st. Sc in the next ch 3 space.
*Ch 3, sk the 1st sc,
sc in the next 3 sc’s, skip the last sc.
Ch 3 and sc in the next ch 3 space.
Sc in the next (center) sc.
sc in the next ch 3 space. * Repeat for row
I call this the Everything in 3’s row!
To end row after your last set:
Ch 3 and skipping the sc as usual,
Sc in the last Ch 3 space,
Then sc into the last st of row.
Ch 1 and turn.
Row 4
Sc in the first 2 sts of the row.
Sc into your ch 3 space. (you’ve now increased to 3 sts at the beginning)
*Ch 3, skip 1 Sc, Sc into next Sc, (the middle sc)
Ch 3 and sk the next Sc.
Sc into the ch 3 space,
sc into the next 3 sc’s,
sc in the next ch 3 space* Repeat for row
To end row: sc into the ch 3 space, sc into the last 2 sts. Ch 1 and turn.
Row 5
(We’re increasing our first diamond)
sc in the first 3 sc’s.
Sc in the ch 3 sp.
*Ch 5 and skip over to your next ch 3 space and sc into it,
Sc into the next 5 sc’s
Sc in the ch 3 sp. * Repeat for row
To end row: Sc into the last 3 sts. Ch 1 and Turn
Row 6 (We’re starting to reducing our first diamond now)
Sc in the first 3 sc’s, skip last sc,
*Ch 3 and now we’ve come up to our ch 5 space.
Skip the first 2 chs and sc into the middle ch. skip the last 2 chs
We’ve come up to our 7 sc’s in a row. The diamond’s max width is 7 single crochets, so this row we’ll be reducing.
ch 3 and Skip the first sc,
Sc into next 5 sc’s,
skip the last sc* Repeat for row
To end row: Now we’ve come up to our LAST ch 5 space.
Ch 3 and skip the first 2 chs and sc into the middle ch.
ch 3 and Skip the last 2 chains as well as the first sc here.
Sc in just the last 3 sc’s of the row.
Ch 1 and turn.
Row 7
(Still reducing the first diamond)
Sc in the first 2 sts.
(Starting to increase our second diamond of row)
*Ch 3, sc in the ch 3, sc into the sc, sc in the next ch 3 space.
(reducing the next diamond)
Ch 3, skip the first sc, sc in the next 3 sc’s Skipping the last sc, * Repeat for row
To end row: Ch 3 and skip 1st sc, and sc into last 2 sc’s of row. Ch 1 and turn.
Row 8
(Still reducing the first diamond)
sc into 1st sc, skip next sc
(Still increasing our second diamond of row)
*Ch 3 and Sc into the ch 3 space,
sc in the next 3 sc’s,
sc in ch 3 space.
(reducing the next diamond)
Ch 3, sk the 1st sc, sc in middle sc, *Repeat for row
To end row: After you’ve done your last 5 sc’s in a row
ch 3 and sc into the very last sc of the row. Ch 5 and turn.
Row 9 (We’re starting to increase our first diamond now)
*Sc in the ch 3 sp.
Sc in the next 5 sc’s.
Sc in the next ch 3 sp.
Ch 5 * Repeat for row
To end row: after your last sc 7 in a row
ch 2 and DC in the very last st. Ch 1 and turn
