Dizzy Double crochets – Free Crochet Stitch Pattern

Dizzy Double crochets is an easy and fun stitch that would make a great beginner blanket crochet stitch. This crochet stitch uses double crochets and single crochets.

For this project you will need:

HOOK: Any size but I used 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US

YARN: Any size but I used worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU

ch = Chain

st = Stitch

sc = Single Crochet

dc = Double Crochet

sk a st = skip a stitch

* = Repeat what is in between the stars for the rest of the row

Multiples of this stitch

This stitch is done in multiples of 2 + 3


To start

ch in multiples of 2 until you reach your desired width then ch 3 and you’re ready to start.


Row 1

DC 2 in 3rd ch from hook, * sk a st, dc 2 in next st. Repeat for row. Dc in last st. ch 1 and turn.


Row 2

sc in 1st st and in all sts. Ch 2 and turn.


Row 3

skip 1st sc and dc 2 into next st. * sk a st, dc 2 unto next st* repeat for row. Dc in last st. ch 1 and turn.


Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you reach your desired size.
