This Mesh Crochet Stitch Tutorial will teach you a stitch I call the Fancy Blocks Crochet Stitch. This easy beginner stitch uses chains and double crochets only, and looks so fancy that I just had to give it that name! It’s a simple one row repeat too, talk about easy and beginner friendly! Imagine a blanket made from this crochet stitch. Simply beautiful!

For this project you will need:

 
 

ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain

st = Stitch

sk = Skip

SC = Single Crochet

DC = Double Crochet

beg = beginning

sp = Space

Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row

Row 1

DC in the 5th Ch from the hook. DC in the next st as well. Ch 3, and in the very next st put 3 DC’s. Sk 3 sts, DC in next st. * Ch 3 sk 2 sts and DC in next. DC in the next 4 sts. Ch 3 and DC 3 in the very next st. Sk 3 sts and SC in next st. * Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row. To end, after your last SC , Ch 3, you should have 5 sts left. Sk 2 sts and DC in last 3 sts of row. Ch 3 and turn.

 

Row 2 (repeat row)

The Ch 3 counts as the beg st. DC in the next 2 sts. * Ch 3, DC 3 on the Ch 3 sp. Sk over the next 3 DC ‘s and into the Ch 3 space put a SC. Ch 3 and DC in the next 5 DC’s. * Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row. To end, DC in the last 2 DC’s and DC in the ending Ch. Ch 3 and turn

Just keep repeating row 2 until you reach your desired size.
