For this project you will need:
HOOK: 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
YARN: You will need 2 colors and 2 skeins of each color. The skeins I used are:
100 grams / 3.5. oz
260 meters / 284 yards
This yarn is 3 ply for the US and 8 ply for Australia.
Another yarn brand with color options
My daughter is about a size 12 which is a size 15 in the US
The Dress measured:
From collar to end of skirt – 76 cms / 30 inches
Sleeve to sleeve – 69 cms / 27 inches
Just the skirt – 47 cms / 18 ½ inches
Also you will need a tape measure and size of the person you are making this dress for. Because of size of yarn, hook used, the tightness or looseness in which you crochet, I can not tell you how much your should chain to get the size you need. I can only tell you what sizes of the yarn and hook I used and chains I used to make the dress for my daughter. If this project is to big, then go down one hook size, or if to small then go up one hook size.
This is a make shift graph I made of the top to help you remember the numbers from row to row without having to look at the pattern only

Making the TOP and Sleeves
Grab the color that you want to make the main color of your top. For me it was Teal. MAIN COLOR
To Start
Ch 72, sl st into the beg ch to form a ring.
Round 1
ch 2 and dc in the next 8 sts, work the corner as told above (dc 2, ch 1, dc 2) all worked into the same stitch. *DC 17, work corner * three times dc 8 and sl st into beg ch.
Round 2
ch 2 and dc in the next 10 sts, work the corner (dc 2, ch 1, dc 2) all worked into the same stitch. You will skip the first DC after the corner *DC 20, work corner * three times dc 9 and sl st into beg ch.
Round 3
ch 2 and dc in the next 12 sts, work the corner (dc 2, ch 1, dc 2) all worked into the same stitch. You will skip the first DC after the corner *DC 23, work corner * three times dc 10 and sl st into beg ch.
Round 4
ch 2 and dc in the next 14 sts, work the corner (dc 2, ch 1, dc 2) all worked into the same stitch. You will skip the first DC after the corner *DC 26, work corner * three times dc 11 and sl st into beg ch.
Round 5
ch 2 and dc in the next 16 sts, work the corner (dc 2, ch 1, dc 2) all worked into the same stitch. You will skip the first DC after the corner *DC 29, work corner * three times dc 12 and sl st into beg ch.
Round 6
ch 2 and dc in the next 18 sts, work the corner (dc 2, ch 1, dc 2) all worked into the same stitch. You will skip the first DC after the corner *DC 32, work corner * three times dc 13 and sl st into beg ch.
Round 7
Fold your piece in half and align the corners. Attach your yarn in the corner stitches of both pieces, ch 2, then unfold and working along the piece put 1 DC in the sts all the way around the piece, making sure to sew the other corner stitch as well, to form a ring. Sl st in top beg ch 2
Round 8
ch 2 and dc in all sts around, Sl st in top of beg ch 2.
Round 9
ch 2 and do a double crochet decrease twice. Dc 1 until you reach the other arm hole, and double crochet decrease twice under this arm as well. Dc 1 in remaining stitches. Sl st in top of beg ch 2.
Rounds 10 – 15
Place marker here. Dc 1 in all sts around for the next 5 rounds. Sl st in top of beg ch 2.
After round 15, cut your yarn. Grab your other color. For me it was Yellow. SECONDARY COLOR
Round 16
Attach by double crochet method, or sl st and ch 3. dc 2 more times in same stitch. * dc 3 in all stitches around * Repeat for row. You will need a multiple of 6 + 2 for the Fleur de lis stitch so count your stitches. If you need to do more or less increases at the end of the row so you can get your sets of 6 + 2 then do so. FOR EXAMPLE if you have 144 stitches, this is a number that is divisible by 6, now you just need your plus 2. So in total you need 146 stitches.
When you have your number then Sl st in beg chain 2. Cut your yarn.
Round 17
Grab your Main color again and attach it using the single crochet method OR sl st and chain 1 and sc into same stitch. Then * ch 1, sk 2 sts, dc 3 into next st, ch 1, sk 2 sts, sc in next stitch * Repeat for row, sl st into beg sc. Drop this color and grab up your other color. You should have 2 sts empty before you sl into beg sc, but if you only have 1, this is okay. Drop color, don’t cut!
Round 18
Attach your secondary color by single crochet method (OR sl st and ch 1, sc in same st ) to the center DC of the DC 3 from last round. Use the DC 3 that’s to the left of where you ended your last round. Ch 2 and * FPDC onto the post of the next DC, then skip over and DC into the SC from last round. FPDC into next DC. * Repeat for the round. Sl st in beg sc and drop your secondary color.
Round 19
Grab your Main color up again and ch 1 to bring you up to the level, and do 3 dc’s in the 1st sc of the row, * ch 1 and sc into the next DC, ch 1 and dc 3 into then next sc * Repeat for the row. Sl st in beg DC. Drop your Color
Round 20
With Secondary Color ch 1 to bring you up to the level, and sc in the center DC of the DC 3 from last round. Use the DC 3 that’s to the left of where you ended your last round. Ch 2 and * FPDC onto the post of the next DC, then skip over and DC into the SC from last round. FPDC into next DC. * Repeat for the round. Sl st in beg sc and drop your secondary color.
Repeat rows 19 and 20 until your skirt reaches desired length or if you’re making it like mine, stop when you have 47 cms / 18 ½ inches. IMPORTANT to measure your dress while it’s hanging, not when it’s laying flat!
When you reach desired length, make sure you end with your Secondary color and cut this yarn leaving only your main color attached.
THE TRIM of the DRESS
Then grab your main color and dc 3 into all stitches, if you can only dc 2 into a stitch this is okay, you are just trying to create a ruffle. You do this by increasing your stitches. Use the stitches and not the spaces of the stitches.
COLLAR
Attach your secondary color and do a crab stitch all the way around.

Round 5 – 7 (3 rounds)
ch 2 and dc 1 into all stitches around. Sl st into beg ch 2
