The Hounds Tooth Crochet Stitch is a beautiful way to use color and makes a warm crochet stitch that’s great for making blankets with. It’s a simple 1 row repeat with color changes each row. I take you through how to do the stitch and how to change colors in the video tutorial.

For this project you will need:
- HOOK: Any size but I used 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
- YARN: Any size but I used worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU

YO = Yarn Over
st = Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
* = Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row

Once you have your multiples done to the width you want, ch 1 and you’re ready to begin row 1.
Row 1
SC in the 2nd ch from the hook. DC in the next stitch SC in next stitch then DC in the next. * Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row
Now you’re ready to change colors. You will change colors like this every row. When you reach your last stitch of the row.
Do an incomplete DC leaving the last 2 loops on your hook. Add new color and finish the DC. Ch 1 and turn
Row 2
SC in the 1st st DC of row. DC in the next SC. Repeat for row. DC in your SC’s and SC in your DC’s. Change your color at the end of the row like we did at the end of row 1.
Repeat row 2
