Lacy Shell Stitch – Free Crochet Pattern

For this project you’ll need:
YARN: Can be used with any size yarn, smaller size looks the best. Use the correct size
HOOK: What the yarn size recommends
For the sizes I used in my project \ in photo’s is a 4.00 mm or G hook. And yarn I used is size 2 Fine.
ABBREVIATIONS
ch = Chain
sl st = Slip Stitch
st = Stitch
sk = Skip
dec = decrease
beg = beginning
YO = Yarn Over
sc = Single Crochet
dc = Double Crochet
TRC = Triple crochet
sk 3 sts = Skip 3 stitches
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round.

This stitch is done in multiples of 8 + 2
To Start:
Ch in multiples of 8 then when you reach desired size ch 2 and begin row 2.
Row 1
sc in 2nd ch from hook and in all sts.
Row 2
ch 1 and sc into 1st st. * sk 3 sts and DC 3, ch 1, DC 3 in next stitch, sk 3 sts, sc in next st. * repeat. After the last dc 3, ch 1 dc 3 of row, sk 3 sts and sc into last st.
Row 3
ch 6 * sc, ch 3, sc in the ch st that’s in center of the shell, ch 3, TRC into sc from last row, CH 3 *repeat for row, TRC into last st.
Row 4 (First row of Repeat)
ch 3 and DC 3 into 1st TRC, then * SC into the center ch 3 that’s between the shells, DC 3, ch 1, DC 3 in TRC from last row * repeat for row. To end row, after the last sc in ch 3 space, DC 4 in 3rd ch.
Row 5
ch 1 and sc in first DC, * ch 3 and TRC in center of ch 3, Ch 3 and sc into center of ch 3 between shells * repeat for row. After last ch 3 of row, sc into top of ch 3.
Row 6
ch 1 and sc into sc * DC 3, ch 1, DC 3 in the TRC from last row, sc in center of ch 3 * repeat for row. Sc in last sc of row.
Row 7 (Last Row of Repeat)
ch 6, sc, ch 3, sc between shell, ch 3 and TRC in sc, ch 3 * repeat for row. Sc in last sc of row to end.
Repeat Rows 4 – 7 until you reach desired size.
To end scarf: After a TRC and sc row
ch 1 & sc in 1st sc * sc 2 in ch 3 space, sc 2 in the sc, ch 3, sc space, ch 2 in ch 3 space, ch 2 in TRC * repeat for row to flatten it out.
