This Mesh Crochet Stitch I call the Little Lace Crochet Stitch is a very beginner crochet friendly stitch. It’s also so simple that you can easily adapt it to almost any project that you need lacy mesh for. I hope you’ll give it a try. It uses only the basic crochet stitches to create!

For this project you will need:
- HOOK: Any size but I used 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
- YARN: Any size but I used worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU

ch = Chain
sl st = Slip Stitch
st = Stitch
SK 3 sts = Skip 3 stitches
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
DC DEC = Double Crochet decrease
* = Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round.

To Start
Ch in multiples of 8 until you reach your desired width then chain 4 more and you’re ready to begin row 1
Row 1
DC in the 4th ch from the hook. *CH 3, SK 3 sts, SC in next st.
CH 3, SK 3 sts, DC 3 in next st. * repeat for the row.
To end the row: After the end of your repeat you should have 1 ch left. DC 2 in last ch of row. CH 1 and Turn
Row 2 (First row of Repeat)
SC in 1st st of row. *Ch 3 and you’ll be using the next 2 CH 3 Spaces. YO, insert in 1st chain 3 space. YO and only pull through 2 loops, YO and using the next ch 3 space, insert your hook and pull up a loop. YO and only pull through 2 loops. You should have 3 loops left on your hook. YO and pull through all 3 loops. This how you do your DC decreases.
Ch 3, and moving over to your 3 DC’s, SC in the middle DC only. * repeat for the row.
To end the row: After your last DC DEC of the row, ch 3 as normal and SC in the top of the ending CH 3 to end your row. Ch 3 and Turn.
Row 3 (Last row of repeat)
DC in the first SC of the row. *CH 3 and SC into your DC DEC. CH 3 and DC 3 in the SC. * repeat for the row.
To end the row: After your last SC and CH 3, DC in the last SC of the row. CH 1 and Turn.
