The Multiples of the stitch
This stitch is done in multiples of 2 + 1
To Start
Chain in the multiples until you reach your desired size then chain 1 more and you’re ready to begin row 1
Row 1
HDC in the 2nd ch from the hook. * SL in the next stitch, HDC into the next. * Repeat for the row
You began with a HDC so you should end your row with a SL.
Ch 1 and turn
Row 2
Since your last stitch of your row was a SL then you will begin this row with a HDC.
You will always crochet SL in a HDC and a HDC in a SL.
Also when HDCing in your SL Stitch, be sure not to use the small front stitch that is created when you sl st. This is a very important look to the stitch.
This Row you began with a HDC you will end with a sl st.
Ch 1 and turn
Row 3
HDC in the 1st stitch, SL st into next. Repeat for row.
Continue to repeat rows 2 and 3.
