This Popcorn Stitch is done from the side which is why I called this stitch Sideways Popcorn Stitch.
The popcorn stitch done in this way makes the stitch look more bobble like. I think this would make a beautifully soft pillow cover or rug.

For this project you will need:
- HOOK: Any size but I used 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
- YARN: Any size but I used worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU

sl st =Slip Stitch
st = Stitch
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
sk 3 sts = Skip three stitches
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row
The Multiples of the stitch
This stitch is done in multiples of 4 + 2
Row 1
SC in the 2nd st from the hook. * Ch 3 and working in the SC you just made, put 5 DC’s into that single SC. Turn your work over and Sl st into the 1st DC. Sk 3 sts and SC into the next. * Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row. To end. Sk 3 and SC in the last st f the row. Ch 6 and turn.
Row 2
Sk over to the SC’s between the Popcorn sts and * DC into the SC and Ch 3. * Repeat for all SC’s. To end, DC in the very ending SC.
Ch 1 and turn
Row 3
SC in the first DC of the row. Ch 3 and working in the SC you just made, * put 5 DC’s into that single SC. Turn your work over and Sl st into the 1st DC. Sk over to the singe DC and SC into it. This will anchor our Popcorn stitch. * Repeat for the row. To end, Count up to the 4 th Ch and SC into it. Ch 6 and turn.
Repeat rows 2 and 3
