This Clusters Crochet Stitch tutorial will teach you how to do this beginner advanced stitch that’s lacy, yet warm. It’s made using Double crochet decreases and single crochets and chart is included for that extra help.

For this project you’ll need:
- HOOK: Size yarn recommends but I used 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US
- YARN: Any size but I used worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU

ABBREVIATIONS

ch = Chain
sl st = Slip Stitch
st = Stitch
sk 3 chs = Skip three chains
SC = Single Crochet
DC = Double Crochet
* = Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round.
| = Repeat what’s in between for number of times indicated
Special Stitch:
Sneaky Cluster – |YO and insert your hook into the stitch, Pull up a loop and YO and pull through only 2 of the 3 loops on your hook.| Repeat this 4 more times for a total of 5 times. You should have 6 loops still on your hook, YO and pull through all 6 loops.

Row 1
sc in the 2nd ch from the hook. * Ch 2 and sk 3 chs and DC 2 in next st. Ch 2 and DC in same stitch. Ch 2, then sk 3 chs and SC in next st. * Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row.
At the end of your row you should have 4 chs left. Sk 3 chs and sc into the last ch of the row. Ch 3 and turn.
Row 2 (1st of of repeats)
* DC in the next 2 DC’s. Ch 2 then do a Sneaky Cluster (see special stitch) Ch 2 and DC in the next 2 Dc’s. * Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row.
To end your row: DC in the last SC of the row. Ch 3 and turn.
Row 3
Using the 1st big space after your beginning ch 3. * DC 2 into the same space. Ch 2, sk over your 2 DC’s and your ch 2 space and in the top of the cluster itself there is a stitch, SC into that stitch and ch 2.
Skip the next 2 DC’s and working in the next big space, DC 2, ch 2, DC 2 all in the same space. Ch 2 * Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row.
To end your row: DC in the 3rd ch up to end your row. Ch 5 and turn.
Row 4
*DC in the next 2 DC’s. Sk the chs and SC and DC in the next 2 DC’s. Ch 2 then do a Sneaky Cluster (see special stitch) Ch 2 *
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row.
To end your row: Ch 2 and DC into the top of the ending ch 3. Ch 1 and turn
Row 5 (last row of repeat)
SC in the 1st DC of the row. * Ch 2 and moving over to the BIG space, DC 2, ch 2, DC 2 into it. Ch 2, sc into top of cluster *
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of row.
To end your row: Ch 2 and SC in the middle ch (or count 3 chs up)
Repeat rows 2 – 5
