Easy Waffle Crochet Stitch Pattern and Tutorial

For this project you will need:

HOOK: Any size but I used 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US

YARN: Any size but I used worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU

Another yarn brand with color options

 

ABBREVIATIONS

(click on link to find tutorials)

ch = Chain

sl st = Slip Stitch

beg = beginning

st = Stitch

sk a st = Skip a stitch

sk 2 chs = Skip two chains

DC = Double Crochet

FPDC = Front Post Double Crochet


Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round.

The Multiples

The multiples of this stitch is 3

To Start

Ch in multiples of 3 until you reach your desired size.

 

Row 1

DC in the 5th ch from the hook. DC in all the sts down your chain. Ch 3 and turn

 

Row 2

The ch 3 counts as the first st.

FPDC in 2nd post of row.

*Dc in next DC

FPDC on the post’s of the next 2 sts.*

repeat for row.

To end row, DC in the top of the ending CH 3. Ch 3 and turn

 

Row 3

The ch 3 counts as the first st.

*DC in the next 2 BPDC (the FPDC’s from last row)

FPDC on the FPDC*

repeat for row.

To end row DC in the top of the ending CH 3. Ch 3 and turn

 

Repeat rows 2 and 3 until you reach desired size
