This is Part 3 of the CAL and in this crochet pattern and tutorial I’ll be showing you how to make the Rest of the Unicorn, the Eyes, Ears, Hair and how to attach everything.

For this project you will need:
Tapestry Needle
HOOK: 3 mm hook or size c hook for the US
YARN: Worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU
100 grams / 3.5. oz
240 meters / 262 yards

ch = Chain
sk a st = Skip a stitch
st = Stitch
sk = Skip
dec = decrease
beg = beginning
YO = Yarn Over
SC = Single Crochet
Sc dec = single crochet decrease
Repeat what’s in between * for rest of round.

EARS -MAKE TWO
INSIDE THE EAR
With Purple
Round 1
ch 3, sl st in beg ch to form a ring. SC 6 into ring
Round 2
sc inc in all sts around (12)
Round 3
ch 1 and DC twice in next stitch, DC two in following stitch too. HDC in next st, then SC in remaining 9 sts. Sl st in next st and ch 1. Cut yarn.
BACK OF EAR
With White
Round 1
You have ways to make this row depending on the look your after.
sl st attach your white yarn.
If you want the white color to show up around the inner ear like the picture below then sl st in back loops only when doing your slip stitches. (14)
Then sl st under BOTH loops when slip stitching this round.
Either way you choose to do it, you should have 14 slip stitches at the end of the round.
Rounds 2 – 5 (4 rows)
SC in BLO’s of all 14 sts. Be sure NOT to crochet to tightly here.
After round 5 pull your white section over the back of the purple to cover It up and sl st to sew this ear closed. Leave a long tail for sewing the ear on.
The Eyes
I used felt to make the eyes. A bit of white and black. My daughter designed the eyes and made a drawing and I did the best I could to recreate it.
I think it’s best to make the ears then find a place where the ears and head look good together, leaving a place in the center of the ears for the horn.
UNICORN HORN
With Gold or a Bright Yellow Color
Round 1
ch 3, sl st in beg ch to form a ring. SC 6 into ring
Round 2
SC in all sts (6)
Round 3
Your piece is probably curving up, make sure to push your piece inside out so that the front side of your work is showing. Then continue, Sc 1, sc inc (9)
Round 4
sc in all sts (9)
Round 5
sc 1, sc inc, repeat 4 more times (13)
Rounds 6 – 10 (5 rounds)
sc in all sts (13)
After round 9 sl st in next st and cut your yarn leaving a tail for sewing. Stuff the horn before attaching it to the head.
ARMS (MAKE TWO)
Using a 3 mm \ C hook
Round 1 (WITH ORANGE)
Ch 3 and sl st in beg ch to form a ring. Sc 6 into ring (6)
Round 2
sc inc in all sts (12)
Round 3
sc, sc inc (18)
Round 4
sc in all sts (18)
Round 5
sc in BLO (18)
Change Color to WHITE
Rounds 6 – 38 (20 rounds of white)
sc in all sts (18)
After round 38 sl st into next stitch and cut your yarn leaving a long tail for sewing.
EARS -MAKE TWO

Round 2
sc inc in all sts around (12)
