The Basket Weave Crochet stitch can be crocheted in different ways. I hope you enjoy this mini series of Basket Weave stitches. Make sure to check out the second one too.

 

This is the first of 3 ways I’m going to show you on how to crochet the Basket Weave stitch. I hope you’ll also check out versions 2 & 3.

 

The Basket Weave stitch can be crocheted in sets of odd or even stitches. EVEN chain in multiple of 8 + 3 or
ODD chain in multiple of 6 + 3

For this project you’ll need:

HOOK: Size yarn recommends, but I used 5 mm hook or size H hook for the US

YARN: Any size but I used

worsted weight yarn, 4 ply US, 10 ply AU

Row 1
dc in 3rd ch from hook, dc in all sts of the row.

 

 

 

Row 2

ch 2 & turn your work, FPDC onto the 2nd post of the Row. FPDC in next 2 \ 3 sts, do a BPDC on the post’s of the next 4 sts. Do a FPDC on the post’s of the next 4 DC’s* repeat for row. DC in last ch 3.

 

 

 

Row 3

ch 2 & turn your work, BPDC onto the 2nd post of the Row. BPDC in next 2 \ 3 sts sts, do a FPDC on the post’s of the next 4 sts.

 

 

Repeat rows 2 & 3
