Teddy Bear Lovey (Part 2) – Free Crochet Pattern

I made this Teddy Bear Crochet Lovey for my nephew. I’ve been given some pictures of him with his crochet gift below if you’d like to see it. This crochet teddy bear lovey pattern is so easy to do and is sure to bring a smile to any face as they receive it!

I made the Unicorn Lovey for my Niece, but I also have a Baby Nephew so I just had to make one for him as well! This is Part 2 of 3. If you missed Part 1 you can find it here

For this project you’ll need:

HOOK: you will need 2 size hooks. 3 mm \ C hook and a 5 mm \ H hook

YARN: medium 4 worsted weight yarn \ Aran 10 ply

3 skeins of Variegated yarn – 100g / 250 meter Skeins to make the afghan portion of this pattern.

And one solid color (Coffee Brown Color)- I used only one skein – Worsted weight yarn 100 grams \ 190 meters of the

I also used a very small amount of Worsted weight yarn in blue for the feet, nose and ears.

 

You’ll also need:

  • Tapestry Needle
  • Hot Glue Gun
  • Fiber Fill
  • Small amount of Felt in Black and White

The Head

Using your 3 mm \ C hook

Rnd 1: ch 2, sc 6 in 2nd ch from hook, or do Magic ring

Rnd 2: inc, repeat 6 times (12 sts)

Rnd 3: sc 1, sc 2, repeat 6 times (18 sts)

Rnd 4: sc in next 2 sts, inc, repeat 6 times (24)

Rnd 5: sc in next 3 sts, inc, repeat 6 times (30)

Rnd 6: sc in next 4 sts, inc, repeat 6 times (36)

Rnd 7: sc in next 5 sts, inc, repeat 6 times (42)

Rnd 8: sc in next 6 sts, inc, repeat 6 times (48)

Rnd 9: sc in next 7 sts, inc, repeat 6 times (54)

Rnd 10: sc in next 8 sts, inc, repeat 6 times (60)

Rnd 11 – 21: (10 rows) sc in 60 sts

 

Rnd 22: sc in next 8 sts, dec, repeat 6 times (54)

Rnd 23: sc in next 7 sts, dec, repeat 6 times (48)

Rnd 24: sc in next 6 sts, dec, repeat 6 times (42)

Rnd 25: sc in next 5 sts, dec, repeat 6 times (36)

Rnd 26: sc in next 4 sts, dec, repeat 6 times (30)

Lightly stuff your piece here. Don’t stuff to much where you block your stitches.

 

Rnd 27: sc in next 3 sts, dec, repeat 6 times (24)

Rnd 28: sc in next 2 sts, dec, repeat 6 times (18)

Rnd 29: sc in next st, dec, repeat 6 times (12)

Finish stuffing your piece now.

Rnd 30: dec, repeat 6 times (6)

Use your tapestry needle to finish closing the hole. Be sure to leave a long tail to use for sewing later.

 
 

The Arms

Using your 3 mm \ C hook

Round 1 (WITH Blue)

Ch 3 and sl st in beg ch to form a ring. Sc 6 into ring (6)

 

Round 2

sc inc in all sts (12)

 

Round 3

sc, sc inc (18)

 

Round 4

sc in all sts (18)

 

Round 5

sc in BLO (18)

 

Change Color to BROWN

Rounds 6 – 38 (20 rounds of brown)

sc in all sts (18)

 

After round 38 sl st into next stitch and cut your yarn leaving a long tail for sewing. Sew top of arm closed.
